What we mean by emergency roof repair

An emergency is anything letting water in, or anything that's about to. Active leaks through a ceiling. Tiles blown off in a storm. A tree branch sitting on the roof. Flashing torn loose by wind. Hail damage that's cracked tiles across a slope. If you're not sure, send a photo and we'll tell you whether you need us today or whether it can wait.

The Illawarra cops east coast lows and southerly busters that can do real damage in an afternoon. We're set up for that. Tarps, harnesses, ladders, replacement tiles — all loaded and ready to roll when the call comes in.

For insurance work, we can supply the make-safe report, photos, and invoice your insurer needs. Mention it when you call and we'll structure the job correctly from the start.

What we do when we arrive

First job is always to stop the water. We tarp the affected area with heavy-duty builder's tarp, secure it properly so it doesn't blow off in the next gust, and clear any gutter blockages contributing to the leak. We check inside the roof cavity for active drips and help move belongings if water's still coming through.

Then we assess what's actually damaged. Sometimes we can fully fix the roof on the first visit — replacement tiles, a patch of pointing, a new length of flashing. Sometimes we need to source materials and come back. Either way, you'll get a clear quote for the permanent roof repair or repairs in your local area before we book the return visit.

If the damage is widespread, we'll talk you through whether a full roof restoration makes more sense than spot repairs. No pressure either way.

Why call Willows Roofing across the Illawarra

We live and work in the Illawarra. We're not driving down from Sydney when you've got water coming through the kitchen ceiling. We're licensed, insured, and we've worked on every kind of roof you'll find in the region — terracotta, concrete, Colorbond, slate, and a few weird ones too.

We carry the right safety gear for working on wet roofs in bad weather. Roofs are dangerous in dry conditions and lethal in the wet. A lot of damage we see has been made worse by homeowners climbing up themselves. Don't. Call us and stay on the ground.

For non-urgent jobs, our standard repair service can usually book within the week. For emergencies, call 0436 443 898 any time. We answer.
